Your data and privacy
What we collect, what we deliberately never hold, who can see your project content, and the rights you can exercise.
We collect what running a marketplace actually requires and not much else: who you are, the work you post or deliver, the messages that go with it, and the record of money moving. Two categories of sensitive data we deliberately never hold at all.
We hold
- Account and profile details.
- Your password, as a salted hash that cannot be read back.
- Posts, listings, proposals, and contracts.
- Project messages, files, and deliverables.
- Transaction records, for tax and accounting.
- Whether you are identity-verified, and when it expires.
We never hold
- Your card number — payment happens on the processor’s hosted page.
- Your bank details — they live with the payments processor.
- Your identity document or selfie — only the verdict reaches us.
Who can see your project content
- You and the other party to the engagement, always.
- Our staff, only when investigating a dispute or a report — not for browsing, and administrative actions are logged.
- Nobody else. Project messages, requirements, and deliverables are not public and are not used to train anything.
- Your public expert profile, reviews, and published services are public by design — that is their purpose.
Rights you can exercise
- Access a copy of your data.
- Correct anything inaccurate — though for approved experts, identity changes trigger re-verification.
- Delete your account. Transaction records are retained where law requires it, and an engagement with money in escrow has to be resolved first.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw a consent you gave.
Deletion cannot erase the other party’s copy of a shared conversation, or a transaction record we are legally required to keep. Anyone claiming otherwise about any platform is overpromising.
