Setting up payouts
Connect a payout account so released escrow can reach your bank — and understand why it locks during active work.
Payouts run through our payments partner, which means your bank details live with a regulated processor rather than with us. You connect an account once and released money flows to it from then on.
Open Earnings
Choose to set up your payout account. You are handed to the partner’s hosted onboarding.
Complete onboarding
Provide what the processor needs to pay you legally: identity, bank or account details, and tax basics for your country.
Wait for payouts to be enabled
The processor decides when the account is payout-ready. Occasionally they ask for an extra document — that request comes from them, not from us.
Receive released work
From then on, approved milestones release to your balance automatically.
Why the account locks during active work
You cannot re-point an already-connected payout account while you have an active contract, live project, or money in escrow. This is deliberate. A payout destination that can be changed mid-project is the exact mechanism an account takeover would use, so the destination is frozen while money is in flight. Finish or close active work first.
Onboard in the right mode
A payout account is tied to the payment mode it was created in. If the platform switches between test and live operation, a previously connected account is correctly ignored and you will need to onboard again — the balance is not lost, the destination just has to be re-established.
AutoGineer never sees or stores your bank details. If a payout is held or reversed, the reason comes from the processor and we can only relay it.
